The “c.MET05 Policy Research Meetings” are close-door talks among a limited number of researchers who intend to develop a common path of critical analysis and scientific production on the research topics of the c.MET05 network: industry and productive systems, economic and social development, internationalization of firms and territories. Our discussion refers both the mature industrialized countries as well as to new emerging and developing countries. Researchers with similar scientific interests meet to discuss ideas, perspectives, and research lines in order to develop joint analyses on researches of common interest. Moreover, with the same aims, researchers with different, specialized and complementary backgrounds are encouraged to participate to the Meetings. Finally, the presence of a mix of scholars with different seniorities, coming from different universities and territories, is considered one of the strengths of these research-oriented discussions. By definition, the Meetings are inspired by the need to get a comprehensive understanding of what happens “in the real world”, and wish to offer a relevant and rigorous contribution to the policy-making debate.
